How to Create and Manage Outgoing Mail Servers in Apple Mail Print

Follow these steps to set up and manage your outgoing mail servers (SMTP) in Apple Mail:

1. Go to Mail, then click on Preferences.

2. Ensure the Accounts tab is selected. If you don't see this screen, switch to it.

3. You can select a different Outgoing Mail Server for each mail account by clicking on Outgoing Mail Server.

4. To edit your SMTP servers, click on Outgoing Mail Server

The top pane displays all configured outgoing servers, while the bottom shows details about the selected server.

5. Click on Advanced. Here, you can set custom ports, enable SSL, and choose the authentication type, if required.

6. To delete the selected server, click the minus (-) icon.

Note: Deleting a server from the list is permanent and cannot be undone.

7. To add a new server, click the plus (+) icon. Type a short description for the new server and enter the Server Name.

8. Click on Advanced to proceed.

9. If you wish to use authentication, select the appropriate Authentication method.

10. Enter the User Name and Password in the provided fields.

11. Click OK to save your changes.

12. Select the new server from the list to set this mail account to use it.
