What are the Differences between Domain Validated (DV), Organization (Business) Validated (OV) and Extended Validated (EV) SSL Certificates?

Domain Validated (DV)
Only the domain name will be verified by the Certificate Authorities (CA).

Organization or Business Validated (OV)
The business will be verified through the provision of the required company documentation to the Certificate Authority (CA), and your company details will be shown on the Certificate.

Extended Validated (EV)
This is the highest level of security currently available. The Certificate Authorities will require company details, company documentation, and ownership details—this information will be shown on the SSL Certificate. The CA will contact the South African provider regarding the equivalent documentation as listed here. This Certificate will display a green URL address bar in high-security level browsers.
