How to Enable SMTP Authentication using Outlook Express

Follow these steps to modify the SMTP settings in Outlook Express:

  1. Open Outlook Express.

  2. Click on Tools > Accounts > Mail Tab.

  3. Select the Account that needs to be changed.

  4. Click on Properties.

  5. In the Outgoing / SMTP Mail Server field, enter:
    mail.your-domain-name.co.za

  6. Tick the option My server requires authentication.

  7. Under Settings, ensure that Use same settings as my incoming mail server is selected.

  8. Click OK, then Apply, and finally OK again.

  9. Click on Restart Outlook Express to apply the changes.
